Our Program
Preschoolers
Our Preschool classroom is a nurturing space where three- and four-year-olds discover who they are while learning to play, explore, and imagine together. Daily activities introduce letters, numbers, and shapes, but the heart of the program is social growth—children practice cooperating, sharing, and joining in songs and stories that spark language development.
Program Goals
We intentionally foster each child’s creativity and self-confidence while laying a solid academic foundation. Key focus areas include:
Socialization – cooperation, empathy, and turn-taking
Language Growth – rich vocabulary through stories, songs, and conversation
Fine-Motor Skills – hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Concept Development – color, shape, and numeral recognition; perceptual awareness
Listening & Spatial Skills – following directions and understanding spatial relationships
Every activity is designed to build confidence, ignite curiosity, and prepare your child for lifelong learning.
Pre - Kindergarten
At The Finch Academy’s Pre-K classroom, four- and five-year-olds refine their social skills—learning to compromise, respect others, and solve problems—while teachers gently coach collaborative play and role-playing. Daily lessons build pre-reading confidence as children identify and write both upper- and lower-case letters, play math games, and investigate the wider world through hands-on science and social-studies activities.
Our warm, inquiry-rich environment nurtures social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Educators emphasize self-regulation, independent thinking, and expressive confidence, encouraging each child to explore new ideas and relationships. A mix of literature, art, math manipulatives, science experiments, and age-appropriate technology ensures that every student steps into kindergarten eager and well prepared.
